For my brother, Andrew's birthday, my parents took us all to Medieval Times. It was so much fun! The kids were entranced with the sword fighting and competitions. And the food was delicious. Skyler even caught a rose from our knight!
Hunter had his first VBS experience this year, twice, in fact. He went to a church down the road for one week in June, but this month he attended Agency D3 at our church, Cornerstone. He had a blast! From the moment we arrived with the "secret agent" asking his name and checking to see if he had clearance to enter.. everyone was so in character, to the cd they gave everyone for the ride home. It had a fun game to play, rediscussed the lesson that day so the parents can be involved, portions of the theme bible verse to memorize, and questions for the family to answer. The mission was raising money for kids in Africa so Hunter was doing chores around the house to earn money, checking under couch cushions, he got Skyler and the rest of us involved. It was actually really cool to see him care so much. It was definitely a great experience for him.
Hunter spent two weeks in swimming lessons again this year, and ended up with Swimmer's Ear :( The ear drops he was prescribed didn't work and we ended up in Urgent Care twice before he finally felt any relief. Skyler also had a weird experience with hives the same weekend, and lasted about 4 days. Maybe it was an allergic reaction, but we couldn't figure it out. Right after that, all 4 of us ended up with a horrible stomach bug, skyler first, then hunter and i together and chase last. What a crazy 2 weeks that was! So glad we are all recovered now.
As summer is coming to an end, we are getting ready to send Hunter off to transitional kindergarten! He is so excited and I am excited to spend some one on one time with Skyler. New beginnings ahead next month, can't wait!
